St. Patrick's Day Table Runner

This turned out way cute and was a fun, quick project! All it took was 3-10 inch squares of the fun shamrock material, 4- 5.25 inch squares of 6 different green fabrics, batting for the middle and a plain green about 1 and 2/3 yard for the back.

The random greens came from fat quarters or I got a few cut and just got 6 inches and I had left over from both. You could always use scraps too if you have greens.

After I cut all the pieces for the front I laid it out and messed around until I liked how it looked.

Then I sewed it together in diagonal rows then each row together. Just make sure you match up corners since its zig zag. Once my front was all done I ironed it so it would lay flat and to finish it off I sewed it right sides together with the batting behind, leaving a whole so I could flip it right side out. A little tip I recently learned is to iron your batting, sounds strange but it made it so much easier with my batting lying flat!

Last step is to sew off the opening and I did that by folding it in and then sewing around the whole table runner at the edge. So it closed off the whole and secured everything a little bit more.

Now my table is all set for St. Patrick's Day and I am inspired to do table runners for every holiday!
